PTC Creo Parametric Training

Learning objectives

• Get to grips with the Creo interface and organise the workspace.
• Design parametric 3D parts: sketches, extrusions, revolves, sweeps.
• Use advanced tools: mirror, patterns, shells, ribs.
• Create and manage complex assemblies with constraints; handle parametric changes and automatic updates.
• Produce associative drawings with automatic views and dimensions.
• Apply configuration management methods and family tables.
• Simulate simple assemblies (kinematics, interferences) and prepare models for the built-in mechanical or thermal simulations.

Syllabus

Day 1 — Parametric parts

• Interface, model tree, design intent.
• Sketches and constraints; extrusions, revolves, sweeps, blends.
• Advanced tools: mirror, patterns, shells, ribs; relations and parameters.

Day 2 — Assemblies and drawings

• Assemblies: constraints, sub-assemblies, managing changes and automatic updates.
• Associative drawings: automatic views, dimensions, bill of materials.
• Family tables and configuration management.

Day 3 (optional) — Analysis and optimisation

• Simple kinematics and interference analysis; tolerance analysis.
• Preparing models for Creo Simulate; work on a part from your company.

Audience and prerequisites

Engineers, project managers and anyone working in mechanical design. Prerequisites: basic knowledge of mechanics and design.

Teaching methods and assessment

Course materials, corrected exercises, mini-project, end-of-course assessment reviewed by Numersalis, certificate of completion. Participants work on their company's Creo licences.
